CEO Corner: Leadership Growth at Oasis Center

We are excited to share continued growth within our leadership team at Oasis Center. We are pleased to welcome three new board members: Executive Board Secretary Melody Bussey, along with Erin Grimes and Simon Zubras. Each brings valuable experience, fresh perspective, and a deep commitment to our mission. Their leadership strengthens our governance and enhances our ability to expand programs and steward resources effectively.

With this strengthened foundation, we move forward with greater capacity and vision. Our board remains deeply committed to long-term sustainability and expanding our impact in the community. We are encouraged by the unity of our leadership as we continue opening doors of opportunity for individuals seeking a fresh start.

Program Impact Through Partnerships

This year, our impact continues to grow through strong community partnerships:

Dallas College & Dallas Leadership Foundation
4 cohorts | 90 participants served through workforce training
Dallas County District Attorney’s Office AIM Court & First United Bank
4 financial literacy classes | 80 participants served
Men of Nehemiah
5 career readiness classes | 45 participants served

These partnerships continue to equip individuals with job readiness skills, financial literacy, and life skills needed for employment and long-term stability.

Looking Ahead

From individuals reentering the workforce to those overcoming long-term barriers to employment, we are witnessing transformation every week across our programs.

As we move into the second half of the year, we remain focused and hopeful. Every student represents resilience, potential, and the opportunity for a better future.

Men of Nehemiah - June Class

Oasis Center is grateful for our ongoing partnership with Men of Nehemiah and the opportunity to support the men they serve. Through this collaboration, Oasis Center provides a monthly Job Readiness class designed to equip participants with the skills, confidence, and resources needed to pursue meaningful employment.

From resume development and interview preparation to workplace professionalism and career planning, these sessions help individuals take important steps toward long-term stability, personal growth, and success. We are honored to walk alongside Men of Nehemiah as they empower men to build brighter futures for themselves and their families. Thank you Melody for teaching our June class!
