Preparing Underserved Individuals for Meaningful Employment
Our Job Readiness Training is a practical, interactive course designed to equip individuals from underserved communities with the tools, skills, and mindset needed to succeed in today’s workforce. Whether participants are reentering society after incarceration, seeking career advancement, or working toward vocational certifications, this program builds a strong foundation for professional and personal growth.
Who We Serve
• Individuals from low- to moderate-income communities in Dallas-Fort Worth area.
• Formerly incarcerated work-ready adults (ages 17 and above) reentering the workforce
• Unemployed or underemployed adults seeking career advancement
• Students aiming to “stack” vocational certifications and increase their employability
What the Program Covers
Participants build confidence and competence in critical areas such as:
• Life Skills: Personal goal setting, time management, selfawareness
• Career Readiness: Résumé development, job search strategies, interview preparation
• Professional Communication: Workplace etiquette, listening skills, body language
• Teamwork & Collaboration: Building trust, working with diverse teams, accountability
• Conflict Resolution: Navigating workplace disagreements and managing emotions
• Workplace Culture & Expectations: Understanding employer values, reliability, and growth mindset
How We Teach
Grounded in adult learning theory and trauma-informed practice, our sessions are:
• Interactive: Role-playing, mock interviews, group problemsolving
• Relevant: Real-world examples, find another one, and up-todate employer expectations
• Reflective: Opportunities for self-assessment, journaling, and peer feedback
• Supportive: Delivered in a safe, encouraging environment that honors the lived experiences of each participant
Program Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants should be equipped to:
• Enter or reenter the workforce with confidence
• Communicate effectively and professionally
• Demonstrate behaviors that employers value
• Pursue additional certifications or education aligned with career goals

Community classes:
Job Readiness Training sessions are offered every other month and run for four consecutive days within one week. Next available start dates will be listed on the Programs & Services Page.
Justice-Involved classes:
Job Readiness Training inside incarceration facilities, class schedules are coordinated with facility staff and may vary based on their operational needs.
For Dallas College partnered classes:
Job Readiness Training sessions through Dallas College are scheduled based on demand and run for three to five consecutive days within one week.

Community classes: Enrollment is simple and open to eligible participants. Use the Interest Form below to begin the enrollment process for the next Job Readiness Training cohort. Next available start dates are listed on the Programs & Services Page. Once your interest form is received, a team member will follow up with the registration application, additional program details, and class times.
Dallas College partner classes: Participants are referred through the college’s internal process.
Justice-Involved classes: Participants are assigned by the partnering correctional facility.
