Trauma Healing

Trauma Healing Program

Helping Individuals Process Pain and Reclaim Hope

Our Trauma Healing program combines a Bible-based framework with proven mental health practices to help individuals recover from painful experiences and rebuild connection with God, others, and themselves. Designed for small-group settings and grounded in adult learning theory, the course promotes healing through meaningful discussion, reflection, and practical application.

Who We Serve

• Incarcerated adults seeking emotional and spiritual healing

• People of faith looking to integrate Scripture into their healing journey What the Program Covers The course includes six core lessons designed to:

• Define trauma and its physical, emotional, and spiritual impact

• Help participants safely explore and process their own life experiences

• Foster forgiveness, resilience, and restoration

• Equip individuals to support others who are also healing

• Each lesson integrates Scripture, clinical insights, and peer dialogue in a supportive, confidential environment. How

We Teach This course follows adult learning principles and is intentionally trauma-informed.

Sessions are

• Interactive: Group discussions, small-group breakouts, and reflective exercises

• Respectful: Delivered in a safe, non-judgmental space that values each voice

• Faith-Integrated: Scripture is woven into every lesson, offering spiritual insight and guidance

• Hands-On: Participants engage in writing, drawing, storytelling, and symbolic activities to deepen learning and healing

Each class is limited to 12 participants to ensure safety, discretion, and relational depth.

Class Schedule

Trauma Healing is currently offered exclusively at the Sander Estes Unit in collaboration with facility leadership. Three classes are held concurrently, including two led by three certified peer facilitators who are incarcerated individuals and have completed official Trauma Healing facilitator training.

Class frequency and timing are coordinated with the facility and may vary depending on operational needs.

How to Participate

Participation in Trauma Healing at the Sander Estes Unit is arranged directly through the facility’s program administration. At this time, enrollment is limited to individuals housed within the unit. We are actively exploring opportunities to expand Trauma Healing into additional locations. If you represent a facility or organization interested in hosting this program, please contact us.
